Discover the power of words and expression at our Community Open House marking the opening weekend of Word Powered: Exploring Free Speech Through Art. Engage your creativity in interactive art-making workshops, craft your own custom buttons, and capture the moment in our themed photo booth. With pay-what-you-wish admission and hands-on activities for all ages, make it a day of discovery, creativity, and fun for the whole family.

 

Canvas of Courage: Painting the Path to Healing   |  1 pm – 3:30 pm

Led by youth artist Kalie Mapp-Hayes of Kreate Your Kourage, this dynamic workshop empowers children ages 6 to 18 to explore their emotions and creativity through the transformative power of art. Participants will create meaningful pieces that reflect their individual journeys, building confidence, emotional awareness, and resilience along the way. With the guidance of skilled facilitators, this workshop fosters self-expression and connection in a fun, uplifting environment designed to inspire courage and creativity.

Space is limited to 15 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is encouraged.
